Privacy policy
Trakzo is a personal track queue for DJs. You collect tracks you hear, find where to buy them, and mark them downloaded. This page explains what data Trakzo needs to do that, where it goes, and how to get rid of it. Trakzo does not sell your data, does not show advertising, and does not track you across other apps or websites.
1. Who is responsible
Trakzo is operated by its developer as a small independent service. For any question about your data, write to support@trakzo.app. You will get a reply from a person, normally within a few days.
2. What Trakzo collects and why
| Data | Why | Where it is kept |
|---|---|---|
| Email address and password | To create your account and sign you in. Passwords are hashed and never visible to us. | Supabase (authentication database) |
| Your tracks and crates | Titles, artists, BPM, key, notes, status and crate names you save. This is the product. | Supabase (database), synced to every device you sign in on |
| Microphone audio (Identify) | When you tap Identify, about ten seconds of audio is recorded and sent to a music-recognition service to find the track. The recording is discarded after the match is returned. Trakzo never records without your tap. | Processed by ACRCloud, not stored by Trakzo |
| Photos (Scan image) | The single photo you choose is sent to an AI model to read the title and artist off it. It is not stored after the response. | Processed by Anthropic, not stored by Trakzo |
| Voice transcript (Add by voice) | Your phrase is transcribed on your device by the browser, and the text is sent to an AI model to split it into title and artist. The text is not stored. | Processed by Anthropic, not stored by Trakzo |
| Track titles and artists you look up | Sent to Apple's iTunes Search API to fetch artwork and a 30-second preview, and to GetSongBPM to fetch key and tempo. | Apple, GetSongBPM |
| Usage counters | A count of how many Identify, Scan and Voice calls your account made each day, to enforce a fair daily allowance and to keep the service affordable. | Supabase |
| Technical logs | Standard server logs (time, endpoint, status, IP address) kept briefly by the hosting provider for reliability and abuse prevention. | Netlify |
3. What Trakzo does not do
- No advertising, no ad identifiers, no analytics SDKs, no tracking pixels.
- No listening in the background. The microphone is used only while the Identify button shows it is listening.
- No selling or renting of personal data to anyone.
- No access to your photo library or contacts beyond the single photo you actively pick.
4. Store links and affiliate programmes
The Find buttons open Beatport, Soundeo and other stores in a new tab or in-app browser so you can buy the track. Some of these links carry a referral code. If you buy something after following a link, the store may pay Trakzo a small commission at no extra cost to you. The stores receive only the search you clicked, never your account details. Their own privacy policies apply on their sites.
5. Service providers
Trakzo runs on a small number of providers who process data on its behalf under their standard terms:
- Supabase — account and database hosting.
- Netlify — web hosting and the server functions that call the services below.
- ACRCloud — audio fingerprint matching for Identify.
- Anthropic — AI model used for Scan image and Add by voice.
- Apple iTunes Search API and GetSongBPM — artwork, previews, key and tempo.
API keys for these services live only on the server. Nothing in the app running on your device can reach them directly, and each call is tied to your signed-in account.
6. Where data is stored and for how long
Your account and tracks are stored for as long as you keep the account. Audio, photos and voice text are processed in memory and are not written to Trakzo storage. Usage counters are kept for about 35 days. Server logs follow the hosting provider's short retention.
7. Your choices and rights
- Export. Ask by email and you will receive your tracks and crates as a file.
- Delete. You can delete individual tracks and crates in the app at any time. To delete your whole account and all its data, use the account option in the app where available, or email support@trakzo.app from your account address. Deletion is completed within 30 days.
- Permissions. You can deny microphone or camera access; Identify and Scan will simply be unavailable and you can add tracks by hand.
- Regional rights. If you are in the EU, UK or a region with similar laws, you have the right to access, correct, delete and port your data, and to complain to your local authority. Email is the fastest way to exercise them.
8. Children
Trakzo is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and it will be removed.
9. Changes
When this policy changes, the effective date at the top is updated and material changes are announced in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the new version.
